Brad Pitt stated that he "got over" his starstruck reaction to his costars "quickly."

On New Heights podcast with Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce on Wednesday, July 2, the 61-year-old Oscar winner spoke about the two actresses who had captivated him.
“When I first met Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, I was… “Yeah,” Pitt responded when asked about his Thelma & Louise co-stars. “But I got over it quickly, though.”

In the 1991 film, Pitt played the charming J.D., who seduces and sleeps with Davis’ Thelma before stealing the friends’ money. This was his first breakout part.
“Geena [Davis] was such a sweet, kind, and sensitive person,” Pitt said in a 2023 interview with W Magazine about shooting his sex scene with Davis. “I believe that love scene took two days to shoot.” She looked after me.”

Additionally, Pitt made an impression on the movie’s actors even though he was still on the rise when he appeared in it.
Sarandon said to Extra in 2021, “When I saw the movie, besides his good looks and fantastic physique, I was really astounded by his humor because he really fleshed that element out in a manner not exactly written. I said, “Ah, this man’s intriguing, you know, he’s not just a really gorgeous face. “
She continued, “He treated it as a character role, and as we can see from his career, he truly continued to push the boundaries in ways that he didn’t have to given his appearance.”
In 2020, for the 30th anniversary of the renowned film, Davis expressed his admiration for Pitt’s work in an interview with PEOPLE.
“He just has ‘it.’ I could tell when he was auditioning that he was super talented,” she told PEOPLE when the actor won his first Oscar. “Over the years, he has accomplished so many amazing things.” In my opinion, it’s not strange that he’s being honored. It’s wonderful to watch him as the true “star” of the hour.

Because the film, which won an Academy Award, demonstrated the two women seizing control of their lives, it has long been hailed as a feminist masterpiece.
Thelma and Louise altered my life. Davis remarked in a 2024 panel with Sarandon and Mira Sorvino, moderated by PEOPLE, Really, it sent me in a different direction. Once that movie debuted, it was totally different in that people wanted to discuss it—how many times they viewed it, who they saw it with, and how it affected them.
